Qualifications:
Ten to fifteen years of experience primarily in vertical, non-residential construction with expert understanding of both the Design/Build and the Design-Bid-Build delivery models
Experience managing similar construction projects for the US Army Corps of Engineers is highly desired
Graduate of a four-year degree program in construction management or building construction science
Graduate engineers or architects will also be considered if they have additional training and demonstrated experience in business administration and accounting
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Responsibilities:
Manages new Design/Build and general contractor pursuits through timely input of construction knowledge, market understanding and strengths assessment
Develops cost-effective plans and schedules for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources
Selects and coordinates work of various subcontractors working on the projects.
Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents and regulations
Is responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses
Supervises project managers, reviews their projects, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any reported deficiencies
Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and budget
Reports to clients in weekly, bi-weekly progress meetings and for other required reviews on both public and private projects
Reports weekly to company leadership on status of projects
