Qualifications:

EDT’s Gulf Coast office is seeking a civil engineer to fill a position in the Mobile, AL area with a Professional Engineer license in the State of Alabama with the ability to obtain their FL/MS/GA license in the future. Our local office located within the Mobile area will be the primary base office with some travel required. This person should have extensive experience in roadway design and project management, in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of/in ALDOT’s Roadway Design Criteria, have broad experience in the delivery of local transportation projects and be knowledgeable of environmental considerations associated with pre-construction activities.

 

• Detail-oriented and display excellent written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated/self-starter and have the ability to work with both skilled and unskilled workers
• The ability to prepare documents appropriately focused for the targeted audience including elected officials, media, skilled staff, unskilled staff and the general public
• Experience designing roadway projects with Bentley programs such as Microstation and Inroads
• Experience with Autocad is a plus

Responsibilities:

Work effectively on design teams and coordinate with team members, Project Management, Project Controls, Schedule Monitoring, Compliance Monitoring, Cost Estimates, Status Reports, Financial Budget, Quality Control, Schedule Development, Progress Meeting, Budget Compliance, Plan Review & Comments, Specification and Bid Package Development.

Requirements:

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama 
• BS in Civil Engineering
• 5 years of experience performing transportation engineering work in the appropriate field, 1 year of which includes supervisory duties
